Luxury Classic Solid for Underfloor Heating

A perfect floor is a combination of the natural beauty of wood with modern technology.

Our company has been implementing proprietary woodworking solutions for decades, supported by protection patent certificates. We offer a unique construction of solid wood parquet that could be used on an underfloor heating system.

Thanks to the production methods, the boards are more flexible, which enables precise assembly and guarantees the stability of the floor during use. Natural and adequately cared for, wooden floors can be enjoyed for generations.

Solid Wood Flooring For UFH

The installation of a wooden floor on an underfloor heating system is not an easy task and requires a lot of experience both from the heating installer and the parquet layer. Wood, as a natural material, reacts to changing environmental conditions, such as humidity and temperature, while underfloor heating significantly increases the fluctuation of these factors. Therefore, this type of heating must be designed with the natural properties of a wooden floor in mind, to ensure very even and non-rapid heat dissipation over the entire surface of the floor.

Two necessary features are required from floorboards:

  • Low thermal resistance, affecting the efficiency of heat transferring in the entire installation.

  • High dimensional stability subsequently reduces the risk of permanent deformation.

When choosing a natural wooden floor, we are faced with the question of whether to choose a layered or solid wood board. Layered floors have only one thin layer, the so-called “top wood”, which significantly reduces or even prevents ease in maintenance. On the other hand, solid boards are made entirely of a single species of wood, which makes them the perfect solution for forthcoming generations. They can be sanded many times and the surface regains its original glow after each renovation. But which type of board is more suitable for underfloor heating?

Floorboards Stability

Experts in the industry often express their opinion that solid boards on underfloor heating will cause the distortion of the wood sooner or later. This opinion, however, is based on experiences with boards of poor quality. This is not the case with high-quality, special floorboards from 7BRACI Flooring Company. The specific properties of the oak floorboards give it the attribute of increased dimensional stability during the variable conditions, induced by underfloor heating.

The qualities of oak ensure the stability of the floor even in the event of increased air humidity and temperature fluctuations caused by underfloor heating. 7 BRACI solid oak boards achieve this thanks to their construction with transverse and longitudinal cuts on the underside, which, by increasing flexibility, enable precise installation and guarantee the stability of the floor during use. The innovation of this solution is confirmed by a protection patent certificate. The cuts on the boards are also an important element of the production process itself and in combination with proprietary techniques of drying and wood processing, they allowed to eliminate half of the factors that are responsible for the performance of the board during changes in environmental conditions.

Thermal Conductivity

The second aspect of using solid wood boards for underfloor heating is their thermal conductivity. The value of the heat conductivity coefficient for wood depends primarily on its density. Solid boards are made entirely out of one type of wood, which is usually oak or ash, which is a species that possesses high density and heat conductivity. In the case of layered boards, low-density wood (birch or conifers) is usually used under the thin surface layer, i.e. with lower thermal conductivity.

In the case of layered floorboards, low-density wood (birch or conifers) is usually used under a thin surface layer, i.e. also with lower thermal conductivity. The negative impact of these aspects of the construction of these engineered boards is confirmed by recent scientific research, which has shown that: a 16 mm thick solid oak floorboard by 7 BRACI has the same thermal resistance as a 14 mm thick two-layer board, a three-layer board with a thickness of 14 mm has 32% higher thermal resistance than the two above-mentioned materials, despite the fact that the test was performed without the foam underlay, on which these types of boards are most often installed; the foam would further have a negative impact on the result.

This is a collection for lovers of natural solid wood who have underfloor heating and wish to install such a floor.

The major advantage is that we supply classic wood floor designs that can be laid over underfloor heating.

The price is equivalent to high-quality laminate flooring. Its cost consists of the long seasoning of the wood and specialised processing, as well as the cost of the patent.

Each of our floors comes with a guarantee. You will find more official information in our product specifications which we send you before payment. in a section :  Warranty Conditions & Quality

Yes, we offer installation; however, such a service is only linked to a large order and these aspects are agreed on an individual basis.

Cleaning and care generally depends on the type of oil or varnish finish. We start by simply vacuuming, the frequency of which depends on how quickly the floor becomes soiled.
